Metalworking Fluids
Metalworking Fluids (MWF) are a group of fluids, mostly oil, that are used to lubricate and reduce heat and friction when cutting and grinding metals to prevent overheating, smoke, and fire. They can also smoothen metals and help remove metal particles in the operations. MWFs perform the following main functions
- Reduce heat from metal and cutting materials in order to prevent the blades from losing their temper
- Reduce friction between metal and cutting materials and also metal particles left from cutting
- Remove metal particles left from cutting
- Prevent rust on the machines and the newly-cut work piece which could be easy rust occurrence
